Girlstories Leadership Theatre (GLT) is a nationally recognized program for middle school girls. The primary objective of GLT is to use theatre arts to increase a sense of becoming and belonging in young girls, increase leadership skills and increase confidence in the public speaking. Powerstories has been providing services to middle school girls beginning in 2003 and in 2010, we received the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award and received the award at the White House from First Lady Michelle Obama.
This year our GLT program was different due to Covid-19. We will be meeting virtually with the girls in groups using Zoom. It will be different, but still lots of fun!
One of the cornerstones of GLT is helping the girls tell and celebrate their own stories out loud and proud. These are their stories performed on Friday July 17th. Enjoy.
